2020 Christina River Cleanup – CANCELED

Saturday, April 4, 2020 Cleanup CANCELED

In response to the State of Emergency and out of an abundance of caution, the Christina Watershed Cleanup has been canceled for 2020 and will resume in 2021. While we take a break from cleaning up as a group, please do what you can as an individual this spring to keep our local streams and natural places healthy and litter free. Getting outside for a walk or hike is a great way to spend some quality time away from crowds – bring a bag and have your own personal cleanup!

Look for more information about the 2021 Cleanup later this year. The Christina River Watershed Cleanup’s mission is the removal of man-made debris from within this beautiful watershed, while raising public awareness for pollution prevention. Since the Cleanup began in 1992, we estimate that over 400 tons of tires, appliances, household items, and other trash have been cleared from within the watershed. A solid effort is needed each year to keep these waterways as free from debris as possible while also improving wildlife habitat. Please join us in 2021 for the next Christina River Watershed Cleanup; additional information for volunteers will be posted as soon as it becomes available at http://christinarivercleanup.org/
